The schedule

the training regime…starts off pretty gentle…

And continues with small increases and variation of terrain…

This is when we found the wonderful parks around Murwillambah.

And then back to work for me, and Bill continues the preparation.

We missed some days, either weather or other hindrances…

Finally March has come round… the weather has been hot and humid making it very difficult to walk; two birthdays to celebrate and of course the end of term exhaustion has put a big dint in my training. On a positive note, check up with GP and podiatrist gave us both the thumbs up. We now know more about our feet, blister prevention and taping of feet should it be necessary.

On to April for longer walks …

Serious, possibly mad…training

Saturday 4th March presented as the perfect day for a longish challenging walk. It wasn’t too hot, no rain predicted and the week had been relatively light in terms of walking. So Werribee Gorge circuit walk it was…grade 3, with some steep sections, chain sections, loose stones… how hard could it be? Stones, and more stones welcomed us.

With the occasional reward, quite spectacular in fact

And steep bits that seemed to go on forever….plus quite challenging tough spots

And made it home to go again
