of corona days and ways

The feature of these days is the sameness of each day. The way it starts and ends and all that is in between…

There is no need for an alarm, I wake at the same time each day, crawl and shuffle out of bed, make my way to the kitchen and start making coffee, I retire to the lounge and start the morning round of news watching : BBC or AlJazeerah, RAI Italian news, ABC Australia till the stories are repeated for the enth time… on the odd day that my brain is not fuzzy I will attempt the quick crossword or the general knowledge one… invariably met with defeat, but one tries…

Needless to say, it is not the way I plan to spend my days.. I just fall into the pattern…

Each night or evening after having binged watched another TV series, I make plans… Tomorrow I will clean the house, I will tidy the pantry, the plastics cupboard, the bookcases, the wardrobes… or I will start that writing project… I will go for a long walk…

I eventually fall asleep, then wake without fail, far too early and start with the first of the many coffees for the day!

I do manage the odd walk or two, sometimes 10 kms, sometimes 2 kms. I also manage quite a few forays into the kitchen: lemonade scones, beef pies, stuffed eggplants, paella, pita breads, souvlaki, meatloaf, tagliatelle, ragù, creme caramel, potato bake… and more.

Another feature has been the afternoon drink, which has evolved from the humble cup of tea and bickie to an antipasto platter and a wine, sometimes two wines.

Am I complaining ? Not really, just musing and trying to find my way out of the funk!
